	  <description>Hoogendoorn &amp; Talbot welcomes Bruce Baker as its newest partner, concentrating his practice on banking and finance transactions, general corporate, regulatory compliance, and international cross border transactions.  He received his BA and MA in international relations from Johns Hopkins University and his law degree from the University of Chicago.  Mr. Baker has worked for large international law firms and a large Chicago bank.  "We already have good relations with a number of banks in Chicago and Bruce's presence will certainly enhance those relationships," notes named partner Case Hoogendoorn. 	  <description>Partner G.A. Finch was recently asked to join the Concept Schools Advisory Committee.  Members of the Advisory Committee were requested to share their experience, expertise, wisdom and vision to help Concept Schools to be the best and highest performing charter management organization in the country.  Concept Schools has grown to manage 27 charter schools in Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Wisconsin, Minnesota and Michigan.  The Concept-managed schools implement the same model of college prep focusing on math, science, and technology with high standards and expectations for all of its students.  All of its schools reside in an urban setting, and they have a 100% college acceptance rate.  Additionally, the demographics of its schools include students who come from economically disadvantaged families that vary from 60% to 99%, while 80% of these schools' graduates are first generations in their families to attend college. 	  <description>On November 15, 2011, Hoogendoorn &amp; Talbot LLP hosted the quarterly Board meeting of Polyphony H.S., the international literary magazine for high school writers founded by Chicago author Billy Lombardo, the winner of the 2011 Chicago Tribune Nelson Algren Short Story Award. &lt;br /&gt;Associate attorney John Lillig is a member of the Polyphony H.S. Board of Directors.  Polyphony H.S. publishes a print and online literary magazine and has received submissions from high school students in 48 states and 16 foreign countries.  Over 1,600 young writers submitted their work to Polyphony H.S. during the 2010-2011 academic year. </description>

	  <description>On May 27, 2011, Partner Deborah B. Cole served as a judge for participants in the Project Citizen 2011 Portfolio Presentations, held at the Dirksen Federal Building in Chicago.  Project Citizen, one of the programs of the Constitutional Rights Foundation of Chicago ("CRF"), provides students in 5th thru 8th grades with the opportunity to examine public policy and work cooperatively on a student-driven project where they take steps to address a problem they identify in their community.  The CRF seeks to instill in our nation's youth a deeper understanding of citizenship through values expressed in our Constitution and our Bill of Rights, and to educate young people to become active and responsible participants in our society.  Ms. Cole was impressed with the passion the students exhibited for the projects they worked on to enhance their communities.  </description>
