Derrick Thompson is an associate in the firm’s Litigation and Business Law Practice Groups. He handles a wide range of civil litigation matters in both State and Federal courts. These matters include business, contract and employment disputes, real estate litigation and contested estates. Mr. Thompson also represents individuals and entities in disputes involving civil rights and liberties. Mr. Thompson handles litigation matters from negotiation through trial.
Mr. Thompson's practice also includes providing counsel to individuals and corporations and assisting them in avoiding and resolving problems. Representative clients include a number of corporations, not-for-profit entities, religious organizations and sports-related entities. Mr. Thompson's background and experience in the sports industry, as well as having been blessed to play college football for Northwestern University, gives him a unique perspective in dealing with disputes arising in the sports world.
