Governmental Regulations and Relations
We advocate on behalf of clients before local, state, and federal governments and agencies. Our regulatory activities typically involve public procurement, licenses and permits, ethics, economic development incentives, land use and zoning, and campaign finance. We represent clients at administrative, municipal, and legislative hearings. We provide counseling on drafting legislation and ordinances and on rule making.
At the local level, our attorneys have advised and assisted clients in matters involving numerous governments and agencies including, but not limited to: Board of Education for the City of Chicago; City of Chicago Board of Election Commissioners; City of Chicago Board of Ethics; City of Chicago Council Committee on Finance; City of Chicago Department of Buildings; City of Chicago Department of Housing; City of Chicago Inspector General’s Office; City of Chicago Department of Law; City of Chicago’s Mayor’s Office; City of Chicago Department of Procurement Services; City of Chicago Department of Revenue; City of Chicago Department of Transportation; City of Chicago Department of Zoning; City of Chicago O’Hare Modernization Program (quasi governmental); City of Chicago Department of Planning & Development; City of Chicago Public Building Commission; Chicago Housing Authority; Chicago Transit Authority; Cook County Board of Commissioners; Cook County Board of Ethics; Cook County Purchasing Agent; Cook County Recorder of Deeds; and Cook County State's Attorney's Office.
