Our Employment Practice Group counsels businesses and not-for-profits on a broad range of employment matters, including, among others: employment agreements, separation/severance agreements, confidentiality/non-disclosure agreements and trade secrets protection, non-compete and non-solicitation agreements, non-circumvention agreements, employee policies, procedures and handbooks, discrimination and retaliation claims and litigation, wage and hour issues, FMLA, COBRA and OSHA matters, ethics investigations and whistleblowers, independent contractor agreements, unemployment insurance disputes, and succession planning.

We draft and negotiate employment contracts concerning executives as well as develop for employers template employment agreements for lower level employees.  We have significant experience representing and counseling C-Suite executives in their employment contract and separation matters.  We also have developed a niche in physician contracts.  Our attorneys defend employers in local, state and federal discrimination claims.  We represent executives and professionals in a wide variety of employment matters and related litigation but do not prosecute employee discrimination or retaliation claims.

One member of our employment practice group is a former Illinois Human Rights Commissioner.  Associate Attorney Derrick M. Thompson, Jr. is currently a co-editor of the Illinois Bar Association Human Rights Section Council Newsletter.  Partner G.A. Finch publishes an executive and professional employment and development oriented blog entitled Your Executive Life, which can be accessed at http://www.yourexecutivelife.com/.
